Columbus police and community volunteers deliver Thanksgiving supplies to families in need

"Columbus Police officers, the Starfish Assignment, and community partners teamed up to donate free holiday meals to hundreds of families in Linden.
Volunteers gathered at Douglas Community Center to pack bags of supplies including, frozen turkeys and side dishes, and then went door-to-door delivering the supplies to families living in the Rosewind Apartments..."

Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation:
The CannonBall
February 21
The CannonBall is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation. Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to interact with Blue Jackets players, management, and club personalities, while also learning about the team's ongoing community involvement and future efforts. Enjoy delicious food and signature cocktails from an open bar. This exciting event will feature one-of-kind auction packages and priceless experiences. Funds raised directly support the health and wellness of children in central Ohio.
African American Heritage Festival
February 24 - March 4
Throughout the years, the African American Heritage Festival has become a staple here at The Ohio State University and the larger Columbus community. The mission of the festival is to promote and provide a space for community, visibility, creativity, and education at The Ohio State University and in the greater Columbus Community.
Komen Columbus Race for the Cure

The Race for the Cure is Komen’s signature fundraising event. It’s a day where we can put aside everything else in our lives and share our stories, our laughter, and our tears to raise money that saves lives while we celebrate survivors, those living with breast cancer, and honor loved ones lost.
Ohio Black Expo

Ohio Black Expo is a statewide humanitarian organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Ohio’s African American citizens, by establishing and encouraging an independent self-help approach to problem solving.
Stonewall Columbus PRIDE
Early June
For 41 years Stonewall Columbus has served the Central Ohio community working to uplift LGBTQ+ identities. Stonewall’s annual PRIDE Festival and March serve as the organization’s largest annual fundraiser that secures the needed funds to support Stonewall’s community programs and annual operations.
26th Annual Juneteenth Ohio Festival
June 17 and 18
The first celebration of Juneteenth included soul food cook offs, drinking ice cold red pop, singing spiritual hymns, performing re-enactments and stage plays that shares tales of bravery, and courage that included, The Buffalo Soldiers, Harriet Tubman, John Brown, Denmark Vesey, and many other heroes and sheroes of the time. Today Juneteenth is celebrated in over 200 cities nationwide.
